How to play mississippi stud

Based on Five Card Stud Poker, Mississippi Stud is easy to learn. Players win if their hands meet or beat a pair of Jacks and earn money based on a payout table. The best payout, for a Royal Flush, equals 500 to 1. A Royal Flush pays on all bets.  In Mississippi Stud players do not play against the dealer.

Getting started

Players ante up before they receive their first two cards. The dealer places three community cards in the middle of the table, face down. After the players look at their first two cards, they may fold – and lose their ante – or they may make an additional wager of one to three times their ante.

The dealer turns over the first community card. The players may make an additional bet, following the same one-to-three times the ante rule. They may also fold. Once the players place their bets, the dealer turns the second community card, and the players repeat the process. After the dealer turns over the last community card, he settles all of the bets. Anyone who folds loses their original ante plus the following bets.

Any player who beats a pair of Jacks with their five-card hand – their two original cards plus the three community cards – wins according to the payout table. Some hands do not win.
